COUNSELING BEGAN in the Phoenix Union System schools as a sort of stepchild. Veteran teachers declared, A good teacher gives his students all the counseling they need, right in the classroom. But after several years of trial and error, investigation of other schools' counseling programs, and a rise in the need for closer student-teacher relationships, the Counseling Department has won its proud place in the regular program. LEF registration Starting with a counselor in his freshman year the student keeps that same adviser through the four years.
