Alan Doobrow intently watches the audience Elections for Student Council, Senior Class, and Junior Class officers were held last year in April while Sophomores elect- ed their officers in September, 1974. The elections involved speeches, posters, and campaign buttons. The competition was tough, mainly because of the enthusiastic speeches by the candidates. More participation in office-running made election time one of the most exciting ones in years. One of the assemblies that was pre- sented at Central was by the Air Force Band. The U.S. Air Force Band demonstrates a new recruiting method with music by the brass section. Golf, tennis, wrestling, swimming, track, volley- ball, basketball, cross country, and baseball are the spring sports. Men and women athletes were recognized for their value or improvement in each of the sports. Last year’s female athlete of the year was Gail Lewis with Walker Lee receiving the male title. The Spring Sports Banquet welcomed as its speaker, Mr. Chuck Hartman, the successful baseball coach of High Point College. The Red Cross Bloodmobile © neld at Central last year was sponsored by the Interact Club. Held in May, the Blood- mobile took in over 120 pints of blood. Mr. Dickens, this won’t hurt a bit! 12 Coach Hutchins proudly presents the FCA award to an outstanding member, John Aderholdt. Julie Randle was recognized for her participation in various GAA sports.
