Class projects at Central varied from candy sales to Friday night dinners. The sopho- more class sold chocolate bars as their money-making project. ‘Cowboy Cain’s,” was the name of the Country and Western Supper held by the junior class. Seniors hosted “Papa Ronnie’s,” their original version of the perennial spaghetti dinner. Both ‘Papa Ronnie’s” and “Cowboy Cain’s' were named after the presidents of the respective classes — Ronnie Clinard and Jim Cain. Cowboy Jim Cain defends the Junior Class Country and Western Supper from outlaws Cappy Probert and Mar- shall Morgan. Papa Ronnie Clinard shares a joke with a guest at the senior class spaghetti dinner. Terry Tate and Chuck Stephens wait for exiting students; hopefully they will be able to make some sales. KML RROR IRE = : Yikee y, aS Hee Frank Shaw of radio station WMFR presents Earl Martin, Most Valuable Offen- Miss Pat Hester congratulates Gail Lewis, winner of the Wright Award sive Player, with a Player of the Night award. and co-winner of the Basketball Award. | George Karl, University of North Carolina basketball star, was the guest speaker for the 1973 All-Sports Banquet. Awards for basketball, swimming, spring sports, and girls’ sports were presented. Capturing the top awards for the girls were Gail Lewis and Sharon Simrel. Walker Lee was selected as Best All-Round Athlete, while Robert Crowder received the Best All-Round Competitor Award. Greg Hinnant won the Dr. W. J. Scott Award, presented for achievement in athletics and schol- arship. Capturing the top award at the 1973 foot- ball banquet was William Washington as Most Valuable Player. Earl Martin was selected Most Valuable Offensive Player, while Joe Primus captured the corresponding honor for the defense. Davidson College football coach, Dave Fagg, was the main speaker. Ronnie Allen, winner of the A. Coke Cecil Award, accepts congratulations from Coach Roy Boyles. 22 Banquets
