Classroom teaching, counseling, direct- ing plays and pageants, working with com- mittees, chaperoning dances, advising pub- lications, student organizations, and clubs were a few of the duties performed by the sixty members of the High Point High School faculty during the year. Practically all faculty members were ac- tive in professional organizations, such as the Classroom Teachers Association and the North Carolina Education Association. Many teachers took part in community or- ganizations and activities, and studied or traveled during the summer months. In September the P. T. A. welcomed the teachers at a dinner in the high school cafeteria. The week before Christmas, the Social Committee, headed by Mrs. Nancy Poston, librarian, and Miss Ruth Goodman, English teacher, entertained the teachers at a tea in the living room of the home economics department. gil' J Flossie strikes again, and this time Lyman Dillon is her unsuspecting victim.
