Stickncy Xllhen the lioard of liducation is mentioned, students have often a mental picture of a group of men who meet. gaze at their refiections in a highly polished tahle top for one hour, and then go home. XYe also think of the hoard as the some- thing or somebody to hlame when our affairs go wrong. Vie forget that this hoard is composed of six husiness men who carry on the financial aspect of our school. They do not profess to have a knowledge of the management of education hut instead engage men who do. lt is to the school hoard that we go for financial aid in our music and athletic projects. Of interest to the teachers is the fact that the hoard is raising salaries to almost pre-depression heights next year. Of note to the students are the improvements we see in the classroom and library equipment. .Ns we dedicate the Optimist to the educational clause of the Northwest Ordi- nance, we are recognizing the importance of the Board of lfducation as a lmasic unit in the support and progress of our educational system.
