1978 Women's Cross-Country Right: Anne Gilbertson battles through the final stretch against opponents from South and West. Below: Tensely awaiting the gun ... an exhausting day. This year's women's cross-country team had one of its best seasons ever, in spite of the minimal turnout of runners. Running some -times ten miles a day, they improved tremendously and placed third in the city meet. Jane O'Brien was an All-city runner, and Coach Rich Hunt was named the All-city coach. Men's Cross-Country '78 . »» The Men's Cross-country team had a very good year. They finished ahead of three other teams in the region 5-AA meet. As only one member is graduating, and the star runner, Paul Durham, is returning, the 1979 team looks to be outstanding. Their record this year was the best they've had in four years. 24
