HOME ECONOMICS The aim of the Home Economics Department is to help girls and boys become better homemakers. The clothing classes learn bout the basic fundamentals of materials as well as budgeting and construction of them. In foods one learns to balance and prepare meals. Miss Daniels and Mrs. Palmer. INDUSTRIAL ARTS Mr. Hendriks, Mr. Kramer, Mr. Mitchulis, Mr. O'Connor, Mr. Blom. The Industrial Arts Department is headed by wood teacher, Mr. Blom. Four new teachers were added to the staff, Mr. Mitshulis--Electronics, Mr. Kra-mer--Auto Mechanics, Mr. Hendricks--Metals, and Mr. O'Conner--Drafting. New ideas have been added to each of the five classes to make them more interesting than ever before. These classes have proved to be great background classes for anyone. IONSTRA'

The English Department has changed their curriculum this year. With the broad variety of classes available, students are given an opportunity to study the subjects in which they are most interested. L. TO R. Mrs. Greiling, Miss Mashck, Mrs. Shutts, Mrs. Baglcy, Mr. Holden, Mrs. Ocshner, Mrs. Sellers, Mr. Hoke, Mrs. Jordan. ENGLISH HISTORY A change was made in the History Department this year. Every quarter new choices of classes were offered, mixing seniors, juniors, and sophomores. Instead of general courses, students could study in depth topics relevant to their own interests. L. TO R. The Vocational Relations staff helps students prepare themselves for the business world. Studies include Employee-Employer Relations, Basic Skills, Job Situations and actual working experiences. Language: Mr. Anderson, Miss Kraning, and Mrs. Lund-heim. The languages offered at Central are French, German and Spanish. Besides learning the language of a country, the history and'culture is also studied. This year we have a new German teacher, Mr. Anderson. Math: Mr. Hansen, Mr. Beske, Mr. Mc-Namer, Mr. Thorcson. The Math Department has added an extra class this year in computer programming. Minneapolis Honeywell has furnished us with unlimited free time on their computer which gives Central the best program of this type in the city. Other subjects include Elementary Algebra, Plane and Solid Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry, Senior Math, Math Analysis and Calculus for some seniors. Mr. Thoreson is the head of this department. 10 STANDING, Mr. Oliver, Mr. Murphy, Mrs. Cronberg, SEATED, Miss Sargin, Mr. Stru-kel.
