The junior girls doomed to defeat. The Sno-Daze festivities began with the crowning of Queen Kay Robinson and King Jimmy Robinson. Junior attendants were l.inda Olson and Calvin Boone. Attending sophomores were Linda Smith and Marcel Laursen. The night of February 2, the senior women battled thejunior girls, defeating the underclassmen in the annual broomball game 2-0. Friday, February 3, the student body attended the “Starlit Snow ” dance featuring Dave Brady and the Stars. Thanks to the decorating by Student Council members, the lunchroom was transformed into a “Winter Wonderland”. The enthusiasm generated by Central students made the dance a huge success. 20

NATIONAL HONOR 90CIETY Members of the National Honor Society maintain outstanding; scholastic records and excel in leadership, character, and service. Only ten percent of the graduating class can be admitted into the National Honor Society. This year, under the guidance of Mr. Hovey, the Honor Society sold championship football buttons, pennants, and sponsored a spaghetti dinner. The members of the Honor Society enjoyed a dinner given by the Laidlaw Legion Post. The highlight of the year for the senior and junior members was the spring trip to Washington D.C. and New York City. President Vice President Secretary Treasurer . . . Advisor ....... Myla Lewis Patsy Herndon . Dean Larson Mrs. Sellers The Student Council, the governing body at Central, planned many student activities and worked to improve conditions at Central. Its activities included the sale of Homecoming buttons, the sponsoring of the Homecoming dance, supervision of the Safety Council, buying and decorating Christmas trees for the front hall and lunchroom, door trimming contest, and the planning of the Sno-Daze activities. The student body is acquainted with the proceedings of the council by the reading of minutes in each homeroom. The Student Council is a very vital organization at Central High School.
