Would you like to buy a corsage? These are familiar words in the halls during the Christmas Season. Every year, the French Club sells corsages to raise money for their club activities. The three year old club, under the supervision of Mrs. Mary Stewart, has had a very successful year and is looking forward to next year. Hail Caesar! The Latin Club, a newly organized club of two years, is fast becoming an active club at Central. This year the highlight of the Latin Club was their Winter Sports Party held at Lake Nokomis on the Eve of Thanksgiving. The Latin Club is becoming an important club at Central. Bottom rowi S. GERMAN CLUB GERMAN CIU6 OFFICERS Der Deutsche Verein Memories of the year’s activities of the German Club will always bring to mind — the selling projects during the Christmos season — Carlsbad Oblaten, perfume nips, holly, and mistletoe — all for the purpose of raising funds for the support of the American Field Service program. Since the four candidates from our school are all German students, there was naturally an interest in raising money for their benefit. Attention was also centered on the singing of German songs and folk dancing, with the polka as the favorite. Meetings were highlighted by pictures of foreign lands and travel talks to broaden our knowledge of the folk ways and customs of other people. The traditional spring picnic “bei dem schonen Zeder See” (Cedar Lake) emphasized German foods and proved again the Gemutlichkeit” so typical of the group. Bottom row: Hoffmon, M. The club put on two plays this year for the enjoyment of the whole student body. According to tradition, Mimes put on a play for the Christmas program. The name of the play was “King of Nomania.' SPEECH ACTIVITIES The speech activities group, under Miss Thompson, is connected with the National Forensic league. They participate in all oral contests except debate. Included in their activities this year was a play given for our Thanksgiving program.
