Office Help Red Cross Taking dictation, running errands, putting mail in teachers' boxes, and writing letters are only a few of the services performed by the office help in the counselor's office. The switchboard and detention slips keep the girls in the main office on their toes. Pioneers who give up their study halls to help with the clerical work of Central are a needed asset. To spread good will to all people of other lands is the objective of the Junior Red Cross. With the excellent guidance of the club's president, Carolyn Hymes; vice president, Aija Studans; secretary, Sharon Simonson; treasurer, Bruce Martin; and faculty adviser. Miss Daniels, their purpose this year was reached by the means of gift boxes and a school chest for overseas. The biggest project of the organization for this past year was the March drive. For this occasion arf excellent program was presented before the student body. Every student at Central High is rightly justified in being proud of this program and group. Row I: Simonton. Splicing film, learning the mechanism of cameras and their operation, removing scratchy noises from audible movies, and repairing breaks in films are a help to Pioneers in future years if they plan on being a motion picture projectionist. To assist the faculty in arranging the stage for all rehearsals and to prepare the stage for approved school functions are two of the main jobs of the stage crew, under the direction of Earl Kyle, manager. Their job, however, also consists of maintaining all equipment in serviceable condition. Members of the stage crew have to have the requirements of honesty and responsibility more than anything else because all prop rooms are under their supervision. The care of the stage and auditorium is also under their management. Row 1: Robichon, Lewis, Wolfe, Needham. Row 2: Holbrook, Carlton, Cooley, Mr. Sondeen, Kyle, McBeth, Hawke.

Ham, our banking pig, was awarded to room 307 for their outstanding leadership in banking. All this goes to show is that we have good representation of bonk cashiers in homerooms to help the rooms win. The banking staff encourages saving for future years and expenses and even loans money to people who just seem to forget all the time. Thanks to this wonderful group, under the guidance of Miss Zanger, we can accept letters of gratitude from Farmers and Mechanics. Singing the Guiding Star Carol and While Stars Their Vigil Keep were the two songs the Sophomore Choir sang in the Christmas concert under the direction of Omer Schommer. We have a Sophomore Choir this year that deserves a lot of credit. They are hard working, intelligent, alert, co-operative, and above all very good singers, which is a vital requirement in order to belong to the choir.
