Most of the club's energy is spent in teaching girls to work and have fun in a team. Under the excellent guidance of Gwen Froiland, president; Toni Hughes, I.C.C. representative; Peggy Newman, vice president; Joyce Hughes, secretary; Yvonne Morrow, treasurer; and Miss Deans, faculty adviser, Triettes had a highly successful year. The club consists of ten committees, each with its own head, to function the club properly. The Recognition Service began the activities of the year, and Senior Farewell ended them. The activities in between included the sale of jelly for the Y.W.C.A., a tea for the teachers of Central, various speakers, and a dance, The Gobble Bop, which raised money to carry the club through the school year. The sale of Homecoming buttons and UNESCO stamps was not the only thing the Student Council, under the direction of Helen Richer, sponsored this year. The Student Council elected John Engfer, president; Jim Swedenborg, yice president; Diane Davidson, secretary; Tom Anderson, treasureV; and Bob Burnside, sergeant-at-arms. Hi-Y Christian Fellowship Clean living, service, and brotherhood is the motto of the Hi-Y here at Central. In connection with service the club spent over 500 hours selling Christmas trees for the Y.M.C.A. This was achieved only with the excellent guidance of Bob Alfton, president; Bruce Otto, vice president; Bob Hokan-son, secretary; Jerry Conn, treasurer; and Mr. Davidson, faculty adviser. The Central Hi-Y is divided into three chapters, the Paps, the Rebels, and Phi Sigma Xi. Aside from their many activities, they found time for many parties, dances, and joint meetings with the Y.W.C.A. groups from various schools. The last party of the year was a combined meeting with the Triettes, at which the graduating seniors were honored. Sleigh rides, Christmas caroling, and talent shows are only a few of the activities which the Christian Fellowship Club takes part in under the leadership of Margaret Olson, Spanish teacher. Belonging to C.F. are teenagers who try to teach fellow students the challenge of Christ, Christian living, and Christian service. The officers who lead C.F. are Dave Kersey, president; Shirley Thorne, vice president; Dawn Lindgren, secretary; Carol Lathen, assistant secretary; and Dave Witt, treasurer.
