TRIETTES Triettes. Central’s branch of the Y.W.C.A., is an important recreation spot on board ship with the added purpose of service for others. LATIN CLUB The Latin Club provides adequate services for those who wish to get acquainted with the language of the old Romans. It also accepts those who would become fluent in German and Spanish. A Roman banquet climaxes the year's activities, and proof that the Romans conquered Ireland is apparent when the club sells St. Patrick favors. Some of the members manufacture shamrocks for the St. Patrick's Day bow sale.

During our long voyage the Red Cross engages in worthwhile activities to cheer up the many seamen who landed in sick bay during their cruise over life's troublesome waters. Among these activities were decorating Christmas trees and tray favors for the wounded veterans. Under the guidance of Miss Florence Legate, the local chapter staged an assembly and a drive for membership. BANKING .. . What fun can any sailor have on shore leave without a bankroll! Provision for sufficient funds is in the hands of clever financiers and clerical experts. Every Tuesday bags of coin go into safe keeping.
