CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL TODAY occupies a commanding site on high terraces with a school population of 2.353. It serves one of the city's eight Senior High School districts, sending forth this year from its portals 686 young graduates. 5

THE ORIGINAL Central High School consisted of the center section of the above building. The north and south wings were later additions. The enrollment from the entire city in 1879 was 229 while the graduating class numbered nineteen. 4
