She, who illuminates the ways of truth and wisdom, guides our destinies and develops our abilities. Her efficiency as an administrative officer in our high school government has 11ot lessened the glow of understanding sympathy that makes everyone her friend. None of our problems is too great for her to solve. The devotion radiating from her meets the steady glow of sincere respect and admiration of the senior classes, who feel that their lives have been inspired by her inliuence. Eleven

4 Jon Dom: USBRIEN HE PRISM catches the beam and divides it into myriad qualities. Understand- ing of young people, interest, and eliiciency in handling them are like lights and shadows on a screen. The inHuence of Mrs. Joan Dorr 0'Brien as student counselor may be likened to a beam of good-fellowship in our everyday life. Through her constant, well- directed efforts, many Central students have been shown how to do their best work. Through her ability to understand student situations she has established many bonds of lasting friendship and appreciation. Her varied experiences as a teacher and a home visitor have admirably fitted her for the position. Through these contacts she gained much of her sympathetic under- standing whieh has so endeared her to our hearts. In her present role as councellor she is a guiding light, assisting students in planning their chosen vocations. Twelve
