April Carroll reveals her ap’peel”’ with her spiked, gelled and blonded hairdo. op oe TO THE EYE new wave is sweeping across this nation. We all Aw what that new wave is, Max Headroom. He dominates the commercials we watch on T.V., and the billboards that dot our highways. Espadrilles are seen on just about everyone’s feet. On the male scene, Sebagos (or pseudo-Sebagos) are a defi- nite must; they are worn without socks, of course! What are people wearing? That’s simple; Forenza! It doesn't matter if it’s shorts, shirts, or pants, just as long as they are Forenza. Jams are another hot item on the cloth- ing list. This summer they showed up in various different lengths. binges length was just below the knees. Es- prit is still . The colors this fall are even brighter and wilder than iaione. For the guys, faded and ripped blue jeans are hot. You can even purchase these jeans pre-tom or pre-faded; if you prefer the stonewashed look, well, they're available also. Come on, guys, get that sloppy look. As for jewelry, Swatches can still be seen on the majority of people's wrists. More and more people are wearing fishing weights as bracelets and ankelets. ‘Friendship’ bracelets are showing up in several varieties of styles and colors. If all these things sound foreign to you, get with it, but remember, you can never go wrong with a T-shirt and an old pair of Levis. The “silky look’ is well displayed by Valencia Lawrence with her over-sized earrings completing this ap’ ‘peeling’ look. Russell Johnson, Vernon Collins and Tony Thorpe show off their ap’ peel” with crewcut, flat-top and shaved design.

Derrick Maddox is definitely in fashion with his lariat Standard equipment at Central this year has been ‘Reebok’ shoes, socks, T-shirts warmups, etc. Many faces peering from Tamika Foster's shirt seems to leave Chris Pennyman perplexed.

GROWING PAINS art Teenage years appear most painful s time passes and Av: reflect upon our high school years, we smile and remember all of our good times. But as with anything else, we never stay the same. In our forty years at Central High School, we watch friends grow and friend- ships change; some become stronger while others simply fall apart. Sometimes we change so much that, at moments, we forget who we really are. So many things happen to us we wonder if we’re growing up too fast — or maybe if we're growing up at all. It's so hard for us be- cause we don’t know just how to act. Our parents want to coddle us, pro- tecting their children for- ever, but we’re dying to jump out on our own, standing on our own two feet and independent. Sometimes we wonder if there will ever be a day without the typical par- ent-teenage argument. We feel alone and de- pressed considering how much our parents care. Then, we all have our moments when we could just kill our best friends, or maybe even our boy- friend girlfriend. The pain can seem Over- whelming. We hate our friends for hurting us and our loved ones for be- traying our trust. Let’s not for- get about school. The Striving for good grades, making a cer- tain team, or pleasing our parents’ with achievements can be so frus- trating that we stop and think, ‘‘What’s life really all about?”’ When our years are completed and high school times are gone, we look back smiling re- alizing our pain is all about of growing up. Shawna Clendening and Sarah Hiscox prepare for fourth period’s quiz du ring their lunch break. Reviewing for 5th period’s quiz, Shawna Clendening and Sarah Hiscox compare notes.
