AND THE ctober 3, 1986 is a bright moment in the hazy high O school memories of Erika Hart and Ned Henry, who were crowned Miss and Mr. Central Homecom- ing night. The Week began with excited students dressed in jeans and jerseys. Yes, Central's Homecoming was only a few days away and Spirit Week was underway. The tension built all week as Central anxiously awaited the Hephzibah game when the new Mr. and Miss Central would be crowned. At halftime the nervous candidates strolled out on the field finally to hear the big news. The moment had come and the air was bubbling with anticipa- tion. After what seemed forever, the names were an- nounced. ‘And the winners are ’ Erika Hart, Miss Central and Ned Henry, Mr. Central. Jill McDonald and Erika Hart and escort Milton Craig smile after Erika receives her crown Sarita McCoy shows her Charger spirit in the Senior car float. WINNER IS... Chris Dunn claimed first runners up with Shirley Randall and Keith Hamilton as second runners up, Katrina Jordan and Ricky Harris third runners up, and Kaye Tutt and David Robinson as fourth runners up. During a special pregame show the Freshmen Michael Higley, and Tasha Simmons, Sophomores Tony Jones and Paula Brison, and Juniors Anna Shockley and Natalie Colvard were presented on car floats. These classes showed their spirit by decorating their cars. Following the game, a Homecoming Dance was held in honor of the candidates, ending a special, fun-filled week at Central. Homecoming ‘86 will be a momentous occassion forever in students’ memories as they reflect upon the good times.
