Fads and fashions are one of the most important aspects of a student’s school life. They show individual style as well as the styles popular today. Through the years, the style of clothes has changed dramatically. Each year has its own style, but many styles of pre- vious years have repeated themselves. The clothing worn by students at Central High School display a variety of these styles. Some of the most popular girls’ apparel this year includes Forenza sportswear, paisley tops and pants, long and knee length skirts, tapestry prints, and over-sized shirts and sweaters. Accessories play a major role as well. These included his her Swatch watches, rhinestone jewelry, and bangle bracelets. The guys have their own style as well. They prefer rugby and plaid shirts worn with faded jeans. Howev- er, dress pants are still on the same. As always, hair styles play a major part in fashion. Shaved sides and dyed hair are extremely popular with both guys and girls. The hair is worn loosely with less shape and styling. Fads and fashions are always changing and will continue to do so in the future. Central will always be up to date with the “classic” styles of today and tomor- row.

As you can well see, there is clearly an as- sortment of fashion at Central. Gail Fleming, upper left, sports the varsity sweater look, while Glen Bennet, top right, exemplifies the “prep” look with his plaid button-down shirt and campside shoes. Above, Shannon Heath wears a paisley blouse — not to mention her above-the-knee print skirt! Tina Marshall pictured with her, also carries the paisley look into her jacket which she teams with solid black pants and high top shoes. To the right, Bradley Gaston shows off his “wedge” haircut and blue jean jacket; both are defi- nitely looks of the 80’s.
