It was a comedy of errors for the Baldwin team, fumbling on the very first play, giving Central's players a chance to show what they could do. Seeing action for the first time this season, Eric Manson scored both touchdowns and John Zimmer was good on both PAT attempts with the final score 14-0. Following a week of Homecoming activities, the Chargers won over Butler in a narrow 10-6 victory, their third win of the season. The Chargers suffered their second loss of the season as Evans took advantage of two first quarter fumbles, then coasted through to a 27-7 win. In a very disheartening loss, Central dropped their next game to Lucy Laney of Augusta by a score of 13-10. Trailing by 4 and with 1:40 remaining in the game, Laney put the winning points on the board with a 9 yard pass completion, overshadowing an excellent performance by the Chargers and dropping their record to 3-3. The Warner Robins Demons crushed the Big Orange on October 20 with a score of 36-0. Though holding a slim lead at Half-time, the Demons scored 33 points in the second half. October 27 the Chargers returned to the victory circle with a 10-7 win over R.E. Lee in Thomaston. Kelvin Oliver kicked the winning field goal midway the third quarter, giving the Chargers a 10-7 lead. Eric Manson took rushing honors for the game — 92 yards on 22 carries including a 31 yard touchdown run in the first quarter. ia WwEehk . SS : .° TUESDAY HAUNT SOUTHWEST DAY FRIDAY 50'S DAY Thousands of excited fans watched crosstown rival, Southwest, upset the Chargers for the second consecutive year. Having three successful onside kicks, the Red Machine completely dominated the first half and led the Chargers 16-0 at half-time, but all was not lost. Central closed in the score to 16-8 when Roose- velt Wilder ran in a 5 yard touchdown and a two point conversion.
