The Lanier Poets scored every time they got the ball in the first half, rolling up a 46-6 halftime lead, then coasted to a 59-12 rout of Appling’s Wildcats. The win was an impressive debut for the Poets, who were favored to capture the 2-AAA East title. The game was just as one-sided as the score indicated. Something old, someone new, Miller, having passed another milestone, is thirty-eight years old. The ‘‘someone new” is Mr. William Bell, former principal of Miller Junior High. Since joining us from junior high, Mr. Bell's leadership has been potent and progressive. His efforts as an administrator are recognized by faculty and students alike as effective and successful. Junior high's loss was our gain. Without a cooperative staff, the principal is merely a figurehead. The Mind benders are an essential element to the smooth operation of the Miller machine. From the gym to the chemistry lab, every instructor is a learning experience to her classes. Each Miller teacher is an individual in her own right, lending her dignity and personality to achieve the Miller Image. William E.
