LANIER FACULTY— BEST IN YEARS The vigor and spirit of a crop of new, youthful teachers, combined with the unflagging steadiness and wisdom of the more seasoned, gave Lanier its most out- standing faculty in many years. A unique breed of teacher is required to instruct teenage boys—a teacher with deep dedication, and exemplary moral character, patience, and a sense of humor. While commanding the respect of boys, the faculty has also gained their admiration. No amount of eloquence could express our gratitude to and love for the faculty. The teachers and administrators of Lanier have abided by the simple but exacting claim, “We Lead.” Henry Middlebrooks Assistant Principal Bobby N. Only one man may claim the unique distinction of being the first Lanier principal to have graduated from Lanier this man is Elton Wall For a great portion of his life, Elton Wall was associated with Lanier in the capacity of student, teacher, and coac h. Through his past service and his present position as prin- cipal, Mr. Wall has always exemplified those exacting qualities which Lanier continually strives to instill into its students. In his short tenure at Lanier, he has revolutionized the functions of an old institution. Better teacher working conditions, more intense and more numerous courses, and general administration efficiency have marked Lanier un- der Mr. Wall. To head the operations of a school of one thousand boys, a remarkable man is the order of the day, and our principal is this man. The Lanier Annual staff proudly salutes Elton L. Wall. The Miller Annual staff wishes to recognize our prin- cipal, Miss Clara Nell Hargrove. for the quality of the achievements which have marked her work at Miller Senior High. She constantly strives to improve; the results are obvious. Every member of the student body is aware of our school’s reputation for academic excellence and high standards. Miss Hargrove has organized the school so well that we seldom realize how much administrative work is involved in the daily functioning of a school of this size. Finally, we would note the support and cooperation which she gives us in our projects and extra-curricular activities. We proudly salute for het superior leadership, Miss Clara Nell Hargrove. aS ae pee: WwrepAaLt — 2 Wess: i 1 ; : } TTT nl Rae a ae ofle anh et eh hin Se Ny iran one tl
