He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me be- side the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they com- fort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. One of the first tasks confronting the editorial staff is the selection of a theme. Jolaine Tidwell and Rose Petty take a moment off from their job of typing copy and relax on the east terrace at Miller. Of equal importance is the business staff of the an- nual. Officers are James Self, president; Wilfred Rainey, vice-president; Joe Carroll, secretary-treasurer; and Joe Bruskie, sergeant-at-arms. MISS MACON’ FUTU- RAMA was the title selected for the career night at Miller sponsored by the Quota Club of Macon and the Miller Guidance Council. Parents and girls visited classes, con- ducted by Quota members actually engaged in those oc- cupations, to ask questions, to make plans for further study, and to arrange for future interviews. A short play, written by one of the speech classes and presented in the auditorium, showed clearly the need for guidance in the choice of a career. Interested students and parents took advantage of this most informative pro- gram. On each side of Frances Parker, Miller’s Best Citizen for 1957-58, are the two runners-up, Gracie Roland and Ginny Everett. Of these three elected by popular vote of the Seniors, one was selected by the faculty in recognition of the way in which she measured up to standards set by D.A.R. club members Cp ea — = _ ae - _ a Cp ee Wee 2st Fe: Th aed ee RES «0 Sas so i Se aS . on a —— ca = m- en iat Se MOS e sae Se See Lire S — ok. i 7 By Cel Les Le SSe — — _ ee ——— 2 ai eh Ogres ee bb. wa SPORTS MR.
