GQSJ smsfory We are the seniors of Central High School. At last we can look back with fond memories as we recall our past five years here. Remembering--our year as sub freshmen' in the new school with 95 students on roll, talking out of turn and doing everything wrong--at least wrong as far as Mrs. Townsend and Mr. Williford saw lt--as we smile and think what a wonderful time we had. Our freshman year was most exciting because we were all looking forward to changing classes and leaming to be in class on time. We then realized we had but four more struggling years of school. The girls pestered Mrs. Matthews while the boys were troubling Mrs. Farrlor, our home room teachers. We progressed and finally were known as Sophomores with Mr. Jolmson in charge of the girls and Mr. Boyd the boys. That year was filled with a lot of hard work, but we all enjoyed it. At last! Upperclassmenl Now we began to be recognized as someone. With Miss Hunt and Mrs. Adams as our advisors we found ourselves with the big responsibility of giving a Junior and Senior Banquet. Everyone worked hard, but at the same time enjoyed it. It had a Mexican Theme and everyone wore red Mexican hats. This big event came off May 14, 1954.. On the night of graduation all of us felt the next year would come and go too quickly--the year when we as Seniors would march proudly, if a little sadly, down the aisles to receive our diplomas. At last the awaited year came and we were proud Seniors with Mrs. Mclamb as our advisor. We were very ambitious Seniors and had most of our little tasks done before the first semester ended, such as selecting our class officers, and ordering our class rings. We were thrilled beyond speaking when we were told we could have an annual. It is the first annual Central has had in about five years. We then started to work and chose our annual staff. As the end of the year approaches with only 43 out of 95 who started high school together, we are looking forward to giving our Senior Play and our long-awaited trip to Washington. Yet, when we think of the future date when we will be leaving, our hearts become a trifle sad until we realize we will always have the memories of all the wonderful times we have had here to call our own.
