When the Philos were organized in 1892 they chose love, honor, hope, and happiness for their ideals. The Philos try to live up to these four ideals which are represented by the four leaves of their emblem, the four-leaf clover. The Philomathians meet in their club room on the fourth Hoor every Friday afternoon at three o'clock. These meetings consist of a program and short social session before the business meeting is held. This year the Philos voted to give the money they would ordinarily use for an informal to Charity. However, they held their regular joints with their brother club, Civics, following election of new members. The Philomathian Society was the first of the girls' literary societies to suggest the short story writing contest in which all three girls' societies competed during the year. This society has also taken a very prominent part in the club declams and other school activities. -1 ' V. L j ll, I Lifx 7,' T' ', LITERARY socuaruas 3215 if 1' . iff, . j 0 r- hundred ten
