Cheer- leaders are out in front for more than to have fun or to add color to the game, they are there to generate excitement for the team. To accomplish this goal, they must be leaders. To be a leader takes hard work, drive, discipline and character. One must gain the respect of her audience by pos- sessing poise, enthusiasm and self-confi- dence. Good cheerleaders also have skill, timing and communication with their audience.
