Owen Learning to do Doing to learn Earning to live Living to serve Members of the Agriculture Classes under the super- vision of W C. Owen, agriculture teacher, have been ac- tively engaged in completing the new cannery and shop building which is an asset to our community. New tables have been built, a new, upright 20-horse power boiler with all steam and water plumbing installed, windows faced, and many tons of earth removed. These were some of the jobs performed by the class. In addition to the above activity, the groups helped in storing 2200 bushels of potatoes for farmers in the community. A Chapter-owned potato bed was constructed which offered about 80,000 plants of pure potato stock to people of the community. Some of the other activities completed were pruning and spraying trees, running terrace lines, bloodtesting, vaccinating and culling poultry. Our entertainment and social activities included our trip to the State Fair, the reqular summer camp, either in the mountains or the sea shore, and our suppers. d f d r
