Most of them thought that they would never graduate from this place of learning. Everything proceeded quietly and soon we knew our way around as well as anyone. Time passed very quickly and soon our first year was brought to an end. when we came back the next year as sophomores, we felt much more grown up. That year business picked up somewhat and we had a few parties under the direction of Mrs. Moore, who was our sponsor for our first two years. Also, Central became part of the Madison school system and became known as Central of Madison. when we ca e back for our Junior year, we found many things awaiting us. Mrs Buckles was our sponsor that year. We had the Job of selling candy at noon and selling concessions at the ball games. We ordered and received our class rings that year and were very much pleased with them. We also were very busy preparing for the Junior-Senior Prom. All in all we had a very prosperous year and everything turned out fine The next year we came back as seniors, the goal we had been striving for since we started. Under the leadership of Mrs. Hooker we sold magazine subscriptions and ads for the annual to raise funds for our senior trip. We also had a dance which was a huge success. Our senior year will never be forgotten by any of us. ter in our lives is about to be brought to a close. We hope that every class that follows us will have as many happy memories as we share. T the sophmores leave our ability t chew gum without being noticed. To the freshmen we leave all chewing gum that is underneath the lunchroom tables. To the faculty we will all our mo ay in the general fund. Now, everyone can have a good time. Paul Adams wills his bashfulness to Wayne Elston. From now on, the girls can live peacefully. Glenn Armand wills his false teeth to the Junior class. In your class, Juniors, there will be no gu chewers. Doris Bladen wills her black hair to Janet Robbins. This will really be a change. James Brown wills his ability to sleep in civics class to Susanne Taylor. Now, there will be one less brain in the class. Larry Buchanan wills his basketball ability to the future basketball players. Get in there and fight, boys. Mary Bette Buchanan wills her ability to go steady with one boy to Valerie Flint. What a change, Valerie! Semarial Bunner wills her ability to skip school to Pete Hunt. H fNC2 ONALD Dfw 15 UEEN Juny BLLCHANAN Alva R 1 E O , . if One beautiful day in the year 1966, Mary Bette Copeland, the multi.-millionaire of Brooksburg, and her husband, Donald, came cruising into the private harbor of Mrs. Willie Prather, the former Alda Mae Goley. Here they planned a yachting trip down the Ohio River to visit their fonaer classmates of 1956. At the first bend in the river they saw Paul Adams preparing for a take off in his new space ship. His last year's tobacco crop brought a great deal of money. The current of the river carried the yacht past the new dent1st's office of Glenn Armand Glenn got tired of waiting. They stopped to see one of their former classmates, Larry B chanan playing on a Nation al All Star basketball team. There, too was Mary Ellen Imel, who is now a professional cheerleader, cheering Larry on to victory. At the college, Professor Max Jackson invited than to his house for a spot of tee. They went back to the yacht, and ste supper. After supper they dressed to go to the opera to hear Ruth Weidman singing the leading part in a famous Italian opera. Following the the opera, they went around the corner to visit the Ji my C0sborneJ Gross Western Music Show. The star on his program was Mary Jo Yocum accompanied by Gloria Cherry on the guitar. While drifting down the river, they passed the wacs Military Base and saw Capt. Connie Robbins making up the daily duties. They had to make an mergency stop at Louisville because of illness. Donald Copeland had developed appendicitls. At the hospital Helen Jean Lee, the head nurse, greeted them. S marial Bunner, her assistant, showed him to his room. Donald's operation was a complete success While he was recovering Mary Betta and Alda Mae decided to attend a fashion show. The leading model, Ramona Wheeler, was modeling the latest fashions created by Emily Dunlap, the famous designer, from Madison, Indiana. After Donald had completely recovered from his operation, they started their voyage home. Just as they left the harbor, a Jet plane swept down over the yacht and nearly took the televison aerial. The pilot was their old classmate, Johnny Wheeler. His co-pilot was John Tingle. Just as they left the city they passed the Army Base. There they saw Billy Rowllson training new recruits. They passed the home of Frances Whitaker, now the wife of the famous chemist, Wayne Stephan. Their beautiful home over-looking the river provides many beautiful views for Frances to paint when she can find time from her wifely duties. Up on another hill they saw the massive farm house of Mrs. Mary Ann Burress, the former Mary Ann Foley. This is finally a dream come true. Now Mary has all the cows, chickens, pigs, and kids she can handle. On the twin hill opposite the Burress farm they law the trailer of Mrs. Joanne Pendleton, the former Joanne Foley. She was waiting at the door for Waldo to come home. Cruising past the power plant they saw the head engineer working with his men. He was none other than the famous Sam Ralston. As they rounded the last bend, they saw the ranch of Eldon Gassert. It covers an area of 2000 acres of land. His foreman is one of your friends and mine, Mr. Denny B ah. ,vang FOP fr ecfv I K They guided the yacht back into the harbor, and then went for a stroll down the streets of Madison. As they approached what used to be known as Harper's Drug Store, they found that the new properitor is Ronald Davis. He was training a new sales clerk. She was another of our form- er classmates, Doris Bladen. On west Main Street they noticed a neon-sign which read NBurke's Dirty Dry Cleaning Establishment.' We saw the owner, Jimmy Burke, writing his motto on the front window, nBr1ng Your Dirt To Burke's.n They met Dorothy Covington on the street. She told us she is now a professional com- edienne and is on the way to stardom. Walking past the record shop, we heard the latest release of the world's greatest bass singer, Jimmy Brown. They visited a new school which had just opened in town. The school teacher, Janet Vernon, was teaching her pupils the latest Hand Language. They noticed the name of the school was 'School of Silent Talk1ng.'
