Foster who us now un the Army as Pres den- and Mrs Roosevelt Mary Ann Whute was Queen Eluzabeth and Edward Munton was Kung George The fuv Dounes were played by Fern Nucely June Jarnagun Natcy Kurg Betty June Rose and Juanrta Gubbs May Day was the next bug event We elected as candu dates four beautuful gurls Nancy Johnson DeWulda Meyeu Mary Anne Whute and Evelyn Susk Mary Anne and Evelyn remauned un the funal race and became mauds Werent we a proud class' On Hugh School Day at the Hull we came back home wuth quute a few honors A number of freshmen were un the Glee Club whuch won furst place In Latun Hubert Hull took furst honors When Peter Block day rolled around our smartest mem bers receuved theur due rewards Alvun Murphy won the algebra cup Faye England the Englush cup and Hubert Hull was awarded fuve dollars for havung the hughest grades un the class Such honors as these brought about the end Beg nnung tne year cass p.u tc pared un We started luvung the uprught luves of sophomores by electung as our class offucers the followung students Stewart McCorkle presudent Mary Margaret Paunter vuce presudent Carrue Belle Morrus secretary and Grady Renfro treasurer Beung too unterested un our mental lufe we dud not have much tume for play There was no May Day thus year but there was a Vuctory Nught and three of our sophomore gurls were attendants to Muss Columbua They were Betty Hughbaugh Dorothy Osmun and Sue Ella Vaughn On Hugh School Day Davud Block won thurd place un Caesar Many others placed un the Latun contest We though' thus quute an accomplushment for Jeanette Deane Claudua Smuth Hubert Hull Sarah Murphy Davud Block and Bobby Hethmon went to Nashvulle to represent us un the State Latun Tournament On Peter Block Day two gurls lBoys dont say the gurls do not have braunsll won the algebra cup They were Sally Gray and Luculle Dunkle Two gurls also tued for top honors They were Frances Large and Betty Hughbaugh Hubert Hull ran a close second After thus strenuous year we went home and spent the summer restung By the tume we got to be lunuors we consudered our selves tops Of course there were the senuors but they must have lust accudentally gotten ahead of us Thus year we took our electuon to heart and as a result Mary Margaret Paunter was elected presudent Stewart McCorkle vuce presudent Mary Eluzabeth Bell treasurer and Nancy Kung secretary Quute a few of us took part un Stunt Nught whuch was put on by the school as a whole but both of the wun nung stunts were made up of a nu 1ber of lunuors The band won furst place and the Latun Club won second place The band had too many members to mentuon so the uunuor cast of the Latun Club stunt wull have to suut our purpose Kunglv Hubert Hull played the leadung role as Juputer handsome Raymond Babelay was Parus cute luttle Anne Moore was Juno Braunstorm Anne Henson was munerva and beautu ruu Mary Anne Whute was venus lncudentally the sketch cauued the rauu or troy and other gurl of superuor qualutues she has made outstandung grades and has partucupated un many hugh school actuvutues The students chosen for the Commencement speakers are Nancy Kung and Hubert Hull These were chosen because of theur hughest grades and speakung abulutues The school cheerleaders are all senuors They are Leonard Fulford head cheerleader Betty Wylue Verna Proffutt Mary Margaret Paunter
