Herringer and Latin students Jane Siekman, Barbara Weinstein, Scott Martin, Karla McCray, Pat Mallory, Harry Lamberson, and Bailie Dunlap translate ta the English that familiar phrase, Noth- ing without work, inscribed on the stained glass window. Through the study of Roman life and culture, Latin liter- aature, and grammar, Centrals Latin classes receive a bet- ter understanding ofthe basis of both our English language and our culture. s sg awww 'lffiainliii' it-new iaiiiims-+ + XEREQQBAA Raw! Speech, which is taught this year by Mr. Merriman, gives all of Central's students a chance ta gain experience and poise in speaking before an audience. Although this course is not required, many students whose future vocation may include public speaking--law, for instance--elect it each year. Christian Tzschucke, our American Field Service ex- change student, uses a sweeping gesture as he drives his point home to the class in a final, summerizing statement.
