Build Friendships FULVIO CALISE ---------- A WELCOME VISITOR FROM ITALY a .w I ? Fulvio is involved in mony school activities. Here I'1e is shown in ci student council meeting. I think it's a great thing to write a few words for the annualg even if my task becomes very difficult because in these words I would like to express all the world of Central, all the happiness I have had here, and all my friendship towards my fellows. One day some of you, Ieafing through this book, will perhaps recall my face and remem- ber what I did and who I was for Central in the year 1966-67. You will perhaps remember that I was born in Naples, a city in southern Italy with more than a million inhabitantsg that I graduated from high school and was going to be a doctor. Some will perhaps remember one of my speeches and will recall all the big differences between my country and the U.S.A: differences in the weather Iwho heard me say that Oregon has very much liquid sunshine?Ig differences in the school system Il told sometimes that this school was easy for me, but I assure you that everything I learned here has been new for melg differences in the natural environment twhere shall I find the beauty of Crater Lake or of your forests?Ig and differences in the char- acters and minds of people. The memory now becomes confusedg perhaps some of you will still remember that before leaving I said to each of you UARRIVEDERCIQ' 41 ...fe I C if I f T II T ' I 3 ' ', we , 'e 111 -I f I ,L F I I page an Italian hope of seeing you again. lfulluoc QQQMQ,

GENEV MAX CORLEY ---------- OUR MAN IN THE NETHERLANDS Here Max is shown on a shopping trip. He is always willing to tell of his experience abroad. The Cor- leys also host Eulvio Calise this year--they are his American tamily . Thus, Central's two A.l:.S. Students are also brothers . I had the distinct privilege to be a member of the A.F.S. 1966 Summer Program. My three-month trip consisted of a month-long stay in Rotterdam, Holland with my Dutch family, and a wonderful month-long vacation to Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. I am sure I will never forget the experi- ences obtained during those months, good and bad. It was a chance I shall probably never have again, which makes me doubly glad tor the opportunity.
