Each serves a three year term. President Roger Mohrman from Camp Point, is serving his third term in office making his sixth year on the Board. Melvin Ihnen from Golden is serving as Secretary for his first term in office. Maurice Brady from Clayton is serving his fourth term on the Board. Larry Gronewold from La Prairie is serving his fifth year. Norbert Witt from Kellerville is serving his four years. Lawrence Walton, Paloma, is serving his second year on the Board, and Lloyd Tenhouse from Coatsburg is serving his first year. Mr. Flesner is now serving his first year as our principal at Central High School. He is learning all the new traits that a high school principal has to know. Mrs. Naomi Taylor has just been with us for a very short time this year after taking the place of Mrs. Gordon. She took over at a confusing time and is doing an excellent job. Mr. Richard Royalty has been our business manager for four years. He is doing a fine job of keeping up with our financial status. Coming back once again as jet propelled Juniors in the fall of 1974 we gained: Cincy Gooding, Kim Kronquist, Harlan Robbins, Diana Sebers, and Betty Stoddard. On April 17 and 18, 1975 we presented our Junior Class Play entitled FINDERS CREEPERS . May 3, 1975 we sponsored the Junior-Senior Prom at the Forum in Quincy, Illinois. Our theme was If...I Could Be With You. Our class sponsors were Ms. Dennis and Mr. Wade. In the fall of 1975 for our fourth and final year we finally were SAGACIOUS (intelligent) SENIORS. We gained: Tim Perry and LuAnn Read. We lost: Belinda Bailey, Tammy Bair, Pat Cunningham, Cindy Gooding, Harold Harwood, Tom Parker, Harlan Robbins, Betty Stoddard. On May 6, 1976 we traveled to Grant's Farm, Northwest Plaza, and Six Flags for our unforgettable Senior Trip. May 7, the Junior Class put on our Senior Prom at the Ramada Inn in Quincy, Illinois. The theme was Stairway to Heaven . On June 4, 1976 we moved our tassels and tipped our caps Goodbye to CHS Our sponsors were Ms. Dennis and Mr. Witty. Strange things go on around here! This year the Student government booked some interesting assemblies including ones of reptiles, seeing-eye dogs, and singing. March 15-19 was Student Government Week. On Monday the members student taught. Tuesday, they visited other schools. The slave auction was featured on Wednesday with Barb Ten-house being bought for the highest price, $19.00. Thursday other schools' Student Councils visited Central, and that evening the S-G had a Banquet at the Blackhawk in Jacksonville. Friday was Slave and Dress-up Day. And to round off a great week, on Friday night the S-G sponsored a dance featuring Mathias. Aden The NHS had an active year in 1976. After the fall induction of new members, mums were sold for Homecoming, sponsored a bake sale at one of the basketball games. The NHS Tutoring Service became a big success in the junior high. The annual NHS Tea was held on May 3 to induct new members and officers. A student must have a 3.25 grade point average to become eligible for NHS membership and is then voted on by the faculty members, who judge him or her on the basis of character, leadership, scholarship, and service.
