This year the council had 21 members with Mr. Wartick and Mr. Powers as helpful sponsors. At the beginning of the year, it was decided to revise the present constitution. Throughout the rest of the year, suggestions were worked on and thought out. Many other grieviances and ideas were brought before the council for action. During the week of March 18-22, the council sponsored their annual Student Council Week. On Monday, the council members enjoyed teaching for certain faculty members. On Tuesday, the council visited other schools and brought back many useful ideas. Visitors from other high schools observed our school on Thursday. That night the Council enjoyed a banquet at the Blackhawk in Jacksonville. Friday, the members served as slaves in the day and sponsored their own hop on Friday night. Near the end of the year a few members visited Quincy Sr. High II and Beardstown High Schools. The year ended with elections for next years' officers AND a stronger Student Council. Annual Staff During the year, the annual staff has worked hard trying to capture the hi-lites of all school activities, and we hope we have succeeded in making this annual the best one yet. Our activities began by taking orders for the 1974 annuals. Ads were sold to local businessmen to help finance the annual. In January, group pictures were taken of all school organizations. The Senior picutres were arranged and Senior reviews were typed. Various pages were assigned to each member. In order to complete their pages, they had to get snapshots, draw pictures to scale, and write a summary of the club's activities for the 1973-1974 school year. Weekly meeting were held to work on the annual pages. Being on the annual staff has been a lot of work, and a lot of fun. We want to thank Mr. Bennett for all his help, and especially for his patience. SPONSOR: Mr. Bennett EDITOR: Deb Mohrman BUSINESS MANAGER: Di Lee PHOTOGRAPHER, Rick Wright 50 Isn't this cute??? A.B. Newspaper Staff Collecting articles, interviewing people, typing, printing, and stapling, combined to make a busy year for the members of the newspaper staff. Approx-mately four hundred Panther Tales were distributed bi-monthly. An enjoyable banquet held in March was one of the main highlights of the year. All the members were served a delicious meal at the Blackhawk Restaurant in Jacksonville. Under the sponsorhip of Mr. Wartick, the newspaper was edited by Martha McCreight and Elaine Musick. Sara Prunty did all the paper's art work. But all the members put in time, patience, and effort to put out an extraordinary paper. Now days, it takes 5 to operate 2 typewriters. A lot of typing goes into a paper. Each typed page must be reviewed for errors. COLONIAL CLEANERS CAMP POINT 4th ROW L. TO R. : D. Moore, P. Lierly, B. Tenhouse, B. Morton, P. Ring, G. Steven, D. The Future Homemakers of America's members and Home Economic classes sponsor a style show every spring and all the girls must participate. The 8th grade and Freshman classes sew a casual garment, Sophomores and Juniors a dress-up garment, and Seniors a tailored garment. Some of the activities the girls participated in during the year were F. H. A. Week, Selling brownies, and the F.H.A. Banquet. This year the F. H. A. sponsored the Valentine Dance on February 23. The dance was enjoyed by all, and a big thanks goes to all the F. H. A members for making it an enjoyable night. OFFICERS President-Deb Broer V. Pres-B. Beckman Secretary-P. Mowens Treasurer-D.
