CLASS HISTORY In the fail of 1967 we entered the crowded halls of Central High as petrified freshman. Our sponsors were Mrs. Doyle and Mr. Allen. In the fall of 1968 we returned to the halls of Central as super sophomores. During the year we lost: Marilyn Akins, Mike Alcorn, Larry Beebe, Mike Gooding, Clinton Hemphill, Merle Jud, Randall Smith, David Toumear, Vickie Van Winckles, and Carol Jean Wigington. We gained: Bob Calaway, William Calaway, and Jerry Long. Our class sponsors were Miss Steiner and Mr. Parker. In the fall of 1969 we again entered the halls of Central as experienced juniors. During that year we lost: William Calaway, Barbara Freeman, Patty Joeckel, Jerry Long, Carolyn Shaffer, Vicky Sidwell, Linda Smith, and Cathy Taylor. We gained Mickael Alcorn, Sonia Bradshaw, and Vicky Eggman. We presented our class play, Our Hearts Were Young And Gay under the direction of Mrs. Jake. From the successful completions of a dance, and selling candy we were able to entertain the seniors at the prom, A Time for Us at the Starlight Terrace in Quincy, Illinois. Our sponsors were Miss Sprick, Mrs. Wilper, and Mr. Wartick. Returning for the last time in 1970 as sophisticated seniors, we lost: Mickael Alcorn, Sonia Bradshaw, Bob Calaway, Doris Davis, Michael Foote, Mark Kelly, Kenneth Wagner, and Lonnie Hargus. We gained: Lonnie Hargus, Janet Sparks, and Pam Winstead. Our class officers were as follows: President--Sam Farlow; Vice-president--Ronnie Pieper; Secretary— Susan Potts; Treasurer--Mark Georges; Reporter--Betty Schorey; Student Council Representatives--Mickey Farlow, Randy Miller, and David Wright. The activities of the year consisted of our Homecoming Festivities and Dance, our Christmas Dance, the Junior-Senior Prom, our senior trip to Chicago, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. Our sponsors were Mr. Brickman and Mr. Witty. The world is at our feet now but we shall never forget Central and some of the best years of our lives. 28
