THE 1967 CENTRAL HILITES Pat Pad8e Fred Bennett Editor Brenda Mahe Jackie Beckett Advisor Business Manager Assistant Editor In Dedication to Helen Shank All her help with the Roman Banquet has been greatly appreciated. She has given her committees an extra boost to make this banquet one of the most successful events of the school year. Whenever a friend is needed, Helen is always there with her warm, friendly smile. All her patience and guidance will be remembered always. 2 In Memory of Herbert Shank Herb always took an active part in the Plus Ultra Banquet and was forever making people smile. No matter what sport was being played Herb was always there backing the Panthers. I am sure there is a warm spot in all our hearts for all the support in which he has given our school. He will never be forgotten by those in the Class of '67'. 3 Classes Pages 1 3-48 Activities Pages 49-74 Athletics Pages 75-87 Howard Meyers President Ronald Moore BOARD OF EDUCATION Wayne Shank Secretary Cyrus Hull Mrs. Dorothy Heinecke Secretary 7 David L. After the raising of the flag of '67 at 4:00 Friday morning and a manglement of bodies to get on the buses, the Seniors were at last on their way. They enjoyed a very quiet bus (due to the fact we had attended an all night party) until we reached Dobyn's Cafe in Mexico, Mo. where we devoured enough food to feed an army. Leaving at 8:00 we reached Kirkwood Lodge at 10:00. After being lectured we were at last turned loose! The activities consisted of: swimming, boating, and golf. Friday night we were entertained at a dance given by the lodge from 8-11. Since we were not required to be in our rooms until 1:00 many of us went in search of more entertainment?? We remained at Kirkwood until 1:30 p.m. After saying adieu to Kirkwood (and returning golf course signs) we went to Osage Beach and remained until 3:30. During this time many bought souvenirs and rented cycles. We arrived once again at Dobyn's at 6:00 where we enjoyed a steak supper. Departing in good spirits we arrived at Central at 9:30 p.m. Saturday night. It seems as though the class of '67 thoroughly enjoyed themselves. SENIOR TRIP 'Just Married” 5:30 - and where’s the BUS.
