In the fall of 1960, we again entered the halls of Central, but this time as Silly sophomores. During the year we lost Donna Hull, Donald Miller, and Everett Tabor. We gained Melvin Moore, Larry Schieferdecker, and Sidney Sidwell. The high-lite of the year was our Sadie-Hawkins Day Dance. Our class sponsor was Mrs. Wickliffe. The next fall, in 1961 we returned to Central as Jolly Juniors. Our class was sorry to report we had lost the following members: Judith Demming, Terry Forrest, Marylee Julifs, Irion Kindhart, Lynn Putnam, Delbert Secrest, Carol Volbracht, and Alice Welty. We gained Gloria Albers, David How aid, and Nancy Nyberg. We presented our class play The Gallant Ghost under the supervision of Mrs. Wickliffe. From selling tons of cookies we were able to entertain the seniors at the prom, Sayonora , in the high school gym. Mrs. McCoy and Mr. Parker were our class sponsors. Returning in 1962 as Sophisticated Seniors we lost Betty Beebe, Nancy Nyberg. Ronald Hemphill, and Larry Schieferdecker. We gained Kenneth Gable and Mrs. Denninger. Our class sponsors were Miss Magill and Mr. Allen. We elected the following class officers: President, Bill Norris; Vice-President, Gary Hamilton; Secretary, Joyce Stevens; Treasurer, Samuel Griswold; Reporter, Lee Echternkamp; and Student Council Representatives, Pat Demming, Bill Norris, and Allen Stevens. The activities of the year consisted of our Halloween Ball, the Boy's Beauty Contest, the Senior Variety Show, the Junior-Senior Prom, our senior trip. Baccalaureate, and Commencement. Sadness prevails as we say farewell to Central High School and some of the best years of our lives. Compliments of George A. McNutt SPENCE McNUTT AGENCY Camp Point, 111.
