(' ass J fi s ory In the fall of 1958, ninety-one green freshmen entered the halls of Central High. They were: Beverly Aden, Bob Albers, Mary Ann Albert, Donna Anderson, Karen Anderson, Wilma Ausmus, Gloria Bain, Dick Bangert, Joe Barnhill, Jerry Bartell, James Beebe, Roger Bennett, Mabel Berry, Judy Bluhm, Ellen Bowen, Gilbert Buss, Norman Davis, Ronnie Davis, Phylis Decker, Edwin Deming, Sherri DeWitt, Kathleen Dinklage, Pat Doyle, Dale Duvall, Ann Echternkamp, Linda Embree, Eric Ennen, Judy Flesner, Darlene Frese, Jerry Fuhrman, Ronnie Gillespie, Eric Gooding, Jeanne Gunn, Sharon Hanke, Gene Henderson, Donna Hendricks, Bill Henning, John Hodgsen, Edward Ihnen, Janet Ihnen, Lewis Ihnen, Nancy Jacobs, Sharon Janssen, Donlenkins, Monte Jones, D. Our sponsor was Mrs. Blentlinger. The next fall, in 1959, we returned to Central, but this time as Silly” sophomores. During the year we lost Gloria Bain, Joe Barnhill, Mabel Berry, Norman Davis, Ronnie Davis, Edwin Deming, Eric Gooding, John Hodgsen, Johnny Maas, and Earl Nelson. We gained Marilyn Balzer, Richard Cookson, and Nancy Hedberg. Our sponsor was Mr. Hamilton. In the fall of 1960 the doors of Central were again opened to us as we returned as Jolly Juniors. Our class was sorry to report that we had lost the following members: Donna Anderson, Marilyn Balzer, Dale Duvall, Jerry Fuhrman, Ronnie Gillespie, Monte Jones, Elizabeth Kinman, Lyle Parn, Carlene Schoonover, Richard Shelton, Donna Stonewall, Michele Veile, Jerry Wallace, Mary Ann Winfield, and Pat Woolery, while we gained Richard Casley, Jean Lierly, Rodney Salley, Gary Schieferdecker, and Carolyn Graham. We presented our play The Wrong Mr. Jones under the supervision of Mrs. Wickliffe. From the sale of cookies we were able to entertain the seniors at the Prom, Paradise of the Seas, in the high school gym. Mrs. McCoy and Mr. Parker were our sponsors. Returning in 1961 as Sophisticated Seniors we lost Mary Albert, Carolyn Graham, Vicky Oberling, Jerry O'Dear, and Rodney Salley, while we were fortunate in gaining Larry Albers, Ken Blair, Carol Nyberg, Shirley Nyberg, JudySlottag, and Linda Williams. Our class sponsors were Miss Magill and Mr. Allen. We elected the following officers: President, Bill Henning; Vice-President, Jerry Bartell; Secretary, Deanne Searls; Treasurer, Janet Ihnen; Reporter, Pat Doyle; and Student Council Representatives, Don Jenkins and Marcia Royalty. This was the first year a Homecoming was held at Central. Jerry Bartell was elected King and Judy Leenerts, Queen. The activities of the year consisted of getting Senior pictures taken, the Junior-Senior Prom, our senior trip, baccalaureate, and commencement. With this we say farewell to four happy, fun-filled years at Central High.
