All these brilliant accomplishments are too much for us. I Think we'll hop a rocket back to the moon tonight. Cjooclbje, (Centra I We of the class of '60 have spent our last days at Central High School. Never again is a rather forbidding phrase, but that is what we must say when we think of pep assemblies and class play tryouts, of semester tests and snow vacation, of losing books and missing buses, and of racing a bell to class. With a last shivering slam of our locker doors, we have said Goodbye to Central. It is right that we should feci some pangs at leaving that which has given us four full years of friendship and warmth and laughter. It is well to realize that there are those of our classmates whom we may never see again. And yet, which of us would really wish to return to Central as a student next year? Before us, the class of '60, stretches a future of incredible scope. Ours is the era of Sputnik and Lunik and beatnik, of compact cars and stereo and dacron, of sick jokes and polio vaccine and ICBM's, and our year of graduation begins a decade predicted to be even more dazzling and vibrant than the decades which produced these innovations. Living in the world of today presents great opportunities as well as tremendous responsibilities. To say Goodbye to Central is to say Hello to this world. The Central High Panthers finished their basketball season with a 15-10 record. The Panthers won the Wenios Conference championship for the fourth time in five years with a perfect, 5-0 record. They also finished third in the Midwest Conference. The nucleus of this year's team was seniors. The other member of the team was Benny Myers, a junior. The loss of these seniors will be great but will be overcome by the class of '61. Ben Myers won the free throw percentage trophy; Gene Daggett won the rebounding trophy; and Ben Myers had the most total points. Compliments of E. A. HEINCKE EQUIPMENT CO.
