histoRy camp point division In the fall of 1954 the halls of Camp Point High School were entered by thirty-six green freshmen. The members of the class were: Carlene Ashmore, Karen Cady. Leon Conover, Mary De Moss, Connie Disselhorst, Russell Embree, Carolyn Erke, Diane Green, Wendell Gunn, Donald Haistings. Melvin Heins, Carlton Hibbert, Dean Huber, Carl Hunsaker, Garl Hunsaker, Mardell Huntley, Glenda Kramberg, Marjorie Leffringhouse, Yovnne Lepper, Harold Lewis, Joan Louderback, Kent Lueders, Paul Mais, Darryl McMaham, Janet Meier, William Puester, Kay Rose, Duane Schlueter, Tom Schuette, Harold Schrader, Gay Stabler, Bruce Thale, Darlene Tournear, Barbara Veile, Evelyn Watkins and Alice Wickliffe. Mr. Brankamp was our class sponsor. The only thing that took place our freshmen year was initiation day and the dance that evening. cUyton division In the fall of 1954, thirteen green freshmen entered the halls of Clayton High School. They were: Patricia Stevens, Marlene Means. Leslie Saylor, Beverly Ennen, David Dunham, Zada Sally, Patricia White, Connie Wear, Marilyn Baird, Herbert Eidson, Donna Moran, Constance Saylor, and Gerald Hapke. We elected Herbert Eidson, President; Donna Moran, Vice-President; Marilyn Baird, Secretary; and Connie Wear, Treasurer. Miss Ellis and Mr. Clapper were our sponsors. During the year we had a hay ride and weiner roast at Steven’s and a skating party at Scotties in Quincy. golden division In the fall of 1954, the halls of Golden High School were once again filled with green freshmen. They were: Eilene Aden, Carol Albers, Ferris Allin, John D. Embree, Gene Flesner, Ruth Ann Johnson, George Kestner, Delbur Knorr, Terry Koontz, Karen Leenerts, Ronald Parn, David Patton, Dolly Post, Roger Reuschel, Anthol Riggins, Sidney Schoonover, Sandra Sherrick, and Audrey Tenhaeff. The following officers were elected: David Patton, President; Anthol Riggins. Vice-President; Jerry Ideus, Secretary-Treasurer; and Roger Reuschel, Student Council Representative. Mr. Arbin Shanks was our sponsor. An enjoyable weiner roast was held in Patton’s woods. centRAl division In 1955 the new Central High School combined into one class the sophomores of Camp Point, Clayton, and Golden. The following students were added: Beverly Ennen. Joan Davis, and Joan Johnson. Class officers for the year were: David Patton, President; Kent Lueders, Vice-President; Ruth Ann Johnson, Secretary; Harold Lewis. Treasurer. Mrs. Brinkman and Mr. Brankamp were our class sponsors. A skating party was sponsored during the year. We returned in the fall of ’56 as jolly juniors. Class officers were: Kent Lueders, President; Carlton Hibbert, Vice-President; Marlene Means. Secretary; and Karen Cady, Treasurer. Mr. Bramkamp and Mrs. Quinn were the class sponsors. Highlights of the year were a skating party, the arrival of class rings, our class play, ROOM FOR THE GROOM, and the Prom at Spring Lake Country Club. In the fall of “57” we returned as sophisticated seniors. The following served as Class officers: David Patton, President; Anthol Riggins, Vice-President; Gene Ketchum. Treasurer; Mardell Huntley, Secretary. Harry Pacatte. Vivian Hufnagel, Don Hamilton, and Rita Pickinpaugh were class sponsors. The year’s activities consisted of picture taking, invitation ordering, raising money, themes and in general preparation for graduation. We were guests at the Junior - Senior Prom held at Mark Twain Hotel in Hannibal. For our trip we went to the Ozarks and St. Louis. Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises were held in the Gymnasium. This has truly been a wonderful year! Thus the SENIORS OF ”58” say “Farewell” to the best years of their lives. 25

 CLASS COLORS: Lavender and White valedictoRian Donna Moran, daughter of Mrs. Chester Moran and the late Chester Moran of Clayton, has achieved Valedictorianship for the year 1957-58. She has been active in commercial work, including assistant editor and editor of the Newspaper Staff, assistant editor of die Annual Staff, and FHA work. We are very honored to have her Valedictorian of our class. CLASS FLOWER: White Rose CLASS MOTTO: With the light of knowledge we start on the path of life. salutatORian Sandra Sherrick, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Sherrick of Loraine, has attained Saluta-torianship for the year 1957-58. Class WILL We the seniors, of Central High School, county of Adams, and state of Illinois, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking any will or wills heretofore made by us. I, Eilene Aden, do hereby will my back seat in 6th hour study hall to Donna McGartland and my ability to laugh three times a day to any SAD person. I, Carol Albers, do will and bequeath my CM-7 membership to Linda Cady and my list of spelling words back to Mr. Parker. I, Marilyn Baird, will my efficiency in typing class to my brother. Bob. I, Karen Cady, do hereby will and bequeath my gray hair to Sandra Durfee and my ability to run the halls without being caught to my loving sister Linda, who knows what I mean. I, Leon Conover, will my position at the Bowling Alley to John Kestner, and my ability on the tramp to Flea Flesner. I, Mary DeMoss. will my athletic physique to my brother, Wesley, and my place in chorus to Gene Wisely. I, Connie Disselhorst. do will and bequeath my good grades and my appreciation of sports to my sister, Joyce, and my knack with boyfriends to my sister Janie, who already has a good start. I, Herbert Eidson, will my running ability to Bob Smith and my ability to get along in Ag. to Gene Wear. I, Russell Embree, will Pete Shelton my ability to comb my hair and my good head of hair to Mr. Sherman. I, Beverly Ennen, do will and bequeath my ability to get a diamond to Sandy Viar, and to Carolyn Husemann my badly worn shorthand book. I, Carolyn Erke, will my back seats in the study hall to Donna McGartland, my gym suit and ability to be the first one on the trampoline to Carol Heinecke. I, Gene Flesner, will my ability to loaf through tests to Harold Flesner and my ability to get in trouble to Jerry Post who is already taking over. I, Wendell Gunn, will my ability to get along with Mr. Elbe and Mr. Womack to Dave Law, and my fights in study hall to Chuck Lawless. I, Gerald Hapke, do hereby will my ability to drive Lincolns around Kellerville corner to Carney Saylor and my hard luck at breaking windshields to my brother, Richard. I, Marilyn Haschemeyer, do hereby will my back seat in English Class to any one who gets there first and my ability to laugh three times a day to any SAD person. I, Pat Heinecke, do hereby being of sound mind (At least I hope) will to my twirling partner, “Sharon Butcher,” my bruises so that she may also annoy Mr. Harris with them when contest rolls around, and to anyone who wishes to live recklessly my fondness to dance in the streets when it is snowing. I, Melvin Heins, will my chair in Ag. to Marvin Martin so he can see to drive. I, Carlton Hibbert, will my ability to roam the halls at Central High to anyone who can get away with it. I, Dean Huber, do will and bequeath to Buck Law my ability to make off with the women and my membership in the D.O. 4. I, Donna Hufendick, will and bequeath my membership in the CM-7 to Donna Leenerts and my share in the corner Locker 16, to Gary Eilers. I, Carl Hunsaker, will to Allen Jacobs my ripe gym socks, my love for sports cars, and my fondness for Little Dutch Girls. I, Garl Hunsaker. will my broken test tubes and shattered glass to next year’s Chemistry class, and to Jack Shelton my love for Shakespeare. I, Mar dell Huntley, hereby will my locker combination, 9-19-38 to Sherri Shutte and my ability to turn corners to Coach Elbe. I, Jerry Ideus, will my ability to get a person in trouble to Jerry Post, who does pretty good himself. I, Kenneth Janssen, will my playing cards I used in English class to Pete Eilers. I, Ruth Ann Johnson, will and bequeath my membership in the CM-7 to Carole Harkness, my ability to sing to Linda Viar. and our old Model T Ford to Carol Buss.
