CENTRAL DIVISION In 1955, the new Central High School combined into one class the Juniors of Golden, Camp Point, and Clayton. Betty Jean Tieken did not return, but the following were added: Freddie Behrens, Jeanette Bienhoff, Patricia Davis, Shirley Gooding, Marjorie Schwartz, and Donna Weisinger. Class officers were Larry Ehmen, President: Donna Weisinger, Vice-Presidentg Roger Bienhoff, Secretaryg J irnmy Aden, Treasurerg Bob Newell, Student Council Representative. Class sponsors were Mrs. Blanche Hill and Mrs, Helen Wickcliffe. Highlights of the year were the arrival of class rings, FOREVER ALBERT, our class play, career day in Quincy, and the Starlite Prom held at the new gymnasium Returning in '56-'57 as sophisticated seniors, these same members elected James Patton, President, Wayne Gibson, Vice-President, Don Stabler, Treasurerg and Donna Weisinger, Sec- retary. Sponsors for this last year of learning were Harry Pacatte, Vivian Hufnagel, and Lila Wyss, The year's activities consisted of picture-taking, invitation ordering, and, in general, preparation for graduation, We were guests at the J unior-Senior Prom held at Springlake Country Club. For our trip, we made a two-day tour of Chicago. Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises were held in the Central Gymnasimn. Thusly the Seniors of 5 I say Farewell to the best years of their livesl CLASS WILL We, the members of the Senior Class of Central High School, County of Adams, State of Illinois, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills made by us in the past. I, James Aden, hereby will my driving ability to Norman Eilers and my ability to get along with women to Bobby Leenerts in case he needs it. I, Pat Aden, will my belated friend, Mary Ami lhnen, the hopes of being married a year after graduation, to Annette'Buss the ability of writing letters to a Swabie and my C-M 'I membership to Audrey Jean Tennhaeff. I, Robert Aden, will my ability to like ice cream to anyone who has this taste, and my position in the kitchen to Karen Mason. I, Anita Anderson, will all of my front seats in classes to Nancy Anderson and my typing ability to Carol Albers. I, Virginia Austin, will to next year's Spanish Class all our stale jokes, and to Danny Moellring my privilege of being at the head of the lunch line. I, Larry Balzer, will to Pete Shelton my good times in Quincy and the ability to keep going as long as Ido. I, Loren Balzer, will my ability to read books and talk in class to Larry Wright. I, Freddie Behrens, will my ability to run the projector to the senior class of next year. I, Betty Bent, will to Jackie Barron my slow growing hair, to Elaine Adams my worn out gym shoes, and to the flute section of the band all old and used music. I, Jeanette Bienhoff, will my pet snake and peach tree to Carol Saathoff, hoping she will cherish it forever. I, Roger Bienhoff, will my ability to blow the horn to Elaine Adams, and the ability to keep my hair straight ro Bob Leenerts. I, Joyce Bowen, will my ability to have good times at Music Contests to Marilyn Baird and my Cardinal admiration to Judy Hufnagel. I, Jack Burrow, will my good English grades to Delbert Knorr who I know will use them and my forward personality to Sandra Sherrick, 25

HISTORY GOLDEN DIVISION The doors of Golden High School opened in the fall of 1953 to twenty-four eager freshmen. They were: James Adm, Pat Aden, Robert Aden, Anita Anderson, Roger Beinhoff, Freddie Burns, Jack Burrow, Annette Buss, Larry Ehmen, Mary Ann Eilers, Shirley Gooding, Kay Harden, Joan Kinrnan, Bill Leenerts, Larry Leenerts, Rosemary Leenerts, MerleLeerhoff, Carol Miller, James Patton, Norma Post, Marjorie Riggins, Ronald Saathoff, Esther Schuster, and Don Turner. The following class officers were elected: James Patton, President, Larry Ehmen, Vice-President, Annette Buss, Secretary-Treasurerg Pat Aden. Reporter. Mr. Shanks was our class sponsor. We returned in '54 as Sophomores welcoming John Tjadeng Don Turner did not return. Joan Kinman did not complete the school term. Officers were: Roger Beinhoff, President, Esther Schuster, Vice-Presidentg Pat Aden, Secretary-Treasurer: Mr. Wagy was our class sponsor. During the school year, we had a skating party and a Halloween party. CAMP POINT DIVISION In the fall of 1953, thirty-three green freshmen entered the halls of Camp Point High School. The members of the class were: Virginia Austin, Larry Balzer, Betty Balt, Mariana Berman, Floyd Blentlinger, Gerald Blentlinger, Larry Butcher, Terry Cady, Ronald Cantrell, Luella Cookson, Kenneth Dagget, Gary DeWitt, Wayne Gibson, Bill Green, Evan Heins, Nancy Hogan, Lois Hopson, Marlene Huntley, Glenda Jud, Roger Lepper, Irvin Miller, Doris Mixer, Marilyn Myers, Anna Marie Nall, Wilma Norris, Carl Ogle, Larry Riutzel, Kay Rutledge, Marjorie Schwartz, Don Sprenger, Don Stabler, Betty Jean Tieken, and Loralee Watkins. Miss Shay was our class sponsor. Initiation day was a big event for us. We sponsored a skating party during the year. ln the fall of '54, we returned as silly sophomores. During the course of the year, we lost the following members: Roger Lepper, Marjorie Schwartz, Gerald Blentlinger, Mariana Berman, Ronald Cantrell, Bill Green, and Nancy Hogan, but we gained Jerry Booth and Bob Newell. Mr. Hagerman was our class sponsor and we enjoyed our sophomore year without too much excitement. CLAYTON DIVISION In 1953, a score of freshmen entered Clayton High School. The twenty students were Ruth Ann Wear, Shirley Buss, Mary Jane Pratt, Joyce Bowen, Lois Brown, Carolyn White, Joan Clark, Silbur Mixer, Earl Mason, Elsie Lane, Ella Marie Meaders, Murlene'Smith, Junior Lane, Wayne Lierly, Fredic Mason, Carlos Kindhart, Larry Rittenhouse, Bob Newell, Kenneth Weisheit, and Charles Eidson. Theclass officers were: Charles Eidson, President: Bob Newell, Vice-President, and Ruth Ann Wear, Secretary-Treasurer. Miss Winter and Mr. Van Ormer were the class sponsors. Fifteen members made up the sophomore class. Lois Brown, Carolyn White, Silbur Mixer, and Junior Lane did not retumg Bob Newell transferred to Camp Point. The 1954-55 ofncers were: Joyce Bowen, Presidentg Kenneth Weisheit, Vice-President: and Ella Marie Meaders, Secretary- Treasurer. Mrs. Evans and Mr. Sherman were the class sponsors. 24

I, Anette Buss, will my ability to sing hillbilly music to Sandra Viar and my quiet ways to Jimmie Collins. I, Larry Butcher, hereby bequeath my quiet nature to Elaine Adams and my tympani sticks to Carol Buss, I, Marianna Bereman, will my engagement ring to Patsy Davis, and my gym socks to Linda Viar. I, Floyd Blentlinger, will my position in the Bowling Alley to Leon Conover. I, Terry Cady, will my ability to get the car to Dennis Hendricks and my ability to go steady to anyone who needs it. I, Kenneth Daggett, leave my little Ford toJ im Brinkman and my likeness for school to Rose Lee St. Clair. I, Patsy. Davis, will my ability to climb fences to Karen Putnam and my guitar to Judy Pratt and Charlotte Tieken, in the hope they will teach Danny Clapp to play it. I, Gary DeWitt, will my likeness for Shirley Gooding to Carl Hunsaker, and my car to Dean Huber. I, Larry Ehmen, will my bottle of H2504 in the third desk to the west to Red Dog and my hot little '49 Chevy to Rose Meaders to keep it in the drag car catagory. I, Charles Eidson, will my ability in track to Bob Baird and my ability to drive Mercury cars to Gerald Hapke, I, Mary Ann Eilers, will my C M-'7 membership to Ruth Annjohnson and my ability to be a cheerleader to Sandra Durfee. I, Wayne Gibson, will my ability to date all the women to Elvis Hendricks and my Vice- Presidency of the Smior Class to Wimp Gunn and also my ability to get along with both English teachers to anyone, I, Shirley Gooding, will my books to Mariame Mayfield and my seat in study hall to Pat Davis, I, Kay Harden, leave my seat in seventh hour study hall to Deanna Weisheit and my locker to anyone who needs it. I, Evan Heins, will my ability to get along with Mr. Sherman in Agriculture class to Don McClelland, and my nickname to James Collins. J I, Lois Hopson, will my cheerleading clothes to my sister, Bonnie a.r1d my ability to get along with Coach Elbe to my brother, John. I, Glenda Jud, will my hair to Ruth Ann Johnson and my friendship for Kenneth Weisheit to Gene Wear. I, Carlos Kindhart, will my ability to sleep in class to Dick Winfield, my ability to give the teachers fits to Bill Baxter, and my ability to type to Ruby Parn. l, Elsie Lane, will my ability of liking Science Fiction on T. V. to anyone who likes it as well as Ido and my interest in science to anyone who takes the subject. I, Larry Leenerts, will my ability to eat candy during classes to Mabel Albers. I, Rosemary Leenerts, will my chemistry lab desk to Pat Heinecke and ability as swimming teacher to Jackie Barron and Carol Buss, my pupils. I, Bill Leenerts, will my seat in P.D. to Sandra Durfee, hoping that she may like it as I did. I, Merle Leeroff, will my position as basketball player to Tom Schutte and my ability to get P. D. to Carole Harkness. I, Fredric Mason, will my ability in track to Allat Gunn and my ability to play football to Tom Schutte. I, Earl Mason, will my ability to catch pigeons to Bob Paxton and my ability to go with Linda Viar to Larry Wright. I, Ella Marie Meaders, will my ability to flirt with boys to my sister, Rosa Lea, and my basketball playing to Marilyn Baird, I, Carol Miller, will my tallness to Bonnie Hopson and my chair in the back row of book- keeping class to Elaine Adams. I, Doris Mixer, will my ability to get mathametics to Dolly Post and my likeness for Family Living class to anyone who could use it, 26
