As students we approach crossroads daily and look for the guideposts to point the way. More often than not, as we reflect on what might have been, we find that the guidepost was a friendly teacher, a classmate, a club or an organization or even a sentence from the Warrior Handbook which reads: A good warrior al- ways . . . and this has made all the difference. No one can ever have the time to travel two roads. As students striving to become useful happy adults, we simply try to follow our highest calling. Ideals are like starsg you will not succeed in touching them with your hands but like the seafarin f 8 man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them, you reach your destiny.--CARL SCHURZ. 3130 Woaof garanofjunchbn, Gokraog T N.. Each year Central stu- dents take an active part in portraying Roman life by serving a Roman banquet in the spring. The students dress in Roman costumes and follow the Roman custom of eating while lolmging. The Central High Latin Club is a member of the Junior Classical League of America. Each year this organization sponsors a convention to acquaint the students with the functions of Roman government and life. This gives the students a better insight into the basis of our own democracy. The members are raising money this year to attend the convention to be held in Colorado Springs March 27. 54522 C616 Mrs. Cecelia Chronis SPONSOR 4 1 3555: 4 f mf-:V , 5 Y 55, we if 'iii - ,,js,y,J, K ,ff, S: , X . One of those charter members, Mrs. Tom Moore, is still active. Mother's Club is both a social and a service club. They meet monthly to conduct their business and to provide a social hour for the Central faculty. In an effort to learn about CHS extracurricular activities, they have at each meeting a program presented by an organization. The Club undertakes a variety of money raising activities each year and contributes the money it makes to worthwhile Central projects. Many departments, as well as individual students, have benefit- ed from the help of Mother's Club. A yearly tuition scholarship to Mesa College is provided by this organization which has also pro- vided a large number of books for the CHS library. Through individual and team effort students learn to cooperate, to play and work hard, to offer their best to a cause outside themselves. Self-discipline, a sense of fairness, team loyalty, and devotion to an ideal are a few of the desirable attributes engendered in an ath- letic program. Central Warriors participate in four major sports: football, basketball, wrestling, and track. The 1964-65 school year saw a fifth sport introduced, golf. The sports program at Central, with its op- portunities for related activities and its coach- ing staff, is one of the finest in District 51. 2 - '3' M? away 53 W is 4 ::, . ,Www In YVVLLV A A . ,, M . is W H, -1, 6 15 , Jia ii, M 3 2 gf J, ,. ,S fm . ,Q , W Q , n , ,1 R 1 E W , 5 :W f 5 A 135 f 5 avg r H Q 1 i 1 Mi ,I I fi-FC 'S . ww. 3 . if - YP J ' '- ,www WAS?
