Good luck, boys was the cheer that rose from around the bonfire on the night of October 20, as the pep rally started the homecoming activities of 1955. A collection of students, faculty, and alumni was on hand to offer good wishes. And the traditional snake dance made us all feel part of our senior homecoming celebration. Most impressive in the parade, of course, was the huge white float on which the heap big chief squaw and her attendants, dressed in their very best deerskins, rode. Indian Summer, this year's homecoming theme, was carried out ingeniously in all the floats. According to most spectators the most exciting game of the season came when the Central Warriors tangled with the Delta Panthers. The score, 13-7, was disappointing for Central, but we can all say the game was hard fought up to the last second of play. V7 Queen Helen Bair Helen Spencer - Janet Clark Vada Mae Christenson - Vonna Bathurst For the dance the gym had a false ceiling of autumn-colored streamers, and looking out over his guests was a life-sized Tawasi in full dress. He stood in front of his teepee on the stage extending a hand of welcome to all. and his campfire shed a soft autumn light on the dancers. Soon it was over, all but the sweet memories. King and Queen candidates are: First row—Sue Jean Russell, omiT.y Gonzales, Ira Clark, Vonna Bathurst, Second row-Luther Bowman, Linda Veatch, Gail Chase and Wendell A.kens. The King and Queen are chosen from the class sell- ing the most tickets. Erutuf, the Indian witch doctor, threw a handful of powder into the council fire so that he might see into the future. As the smoke cleared away, he saw Vernon Jones on a big Texas cattle ranch. His right handy man on the venture was little Larry Walker. Suddenly the scene switched to New York City, in a little night club on Broadway. He saw a famous dance review. In it were June Peterson, Sharon Schindle, Jewell Craig, Helen Bair, and Patty Knox. They call themselves the Five Little Angels. Further down the street he heard the harmonious music of a dance band. The leader of the band was none other than Stan Krug. Comet player for this real gone band was our old buddy. Chuck Key. Suddenly he peered closely into the fire and saw, over the shoulder of a man reading a newspaper, that Bob Patterson was a famous evangelist. This gave him a real thrill. Soloist for his campaigns was our own favorite singer, Glen Chambers. As he continued to look, a huge hospital appeared. There he saw Ronnie Griffith as a real gone interne. Maybe he'll be a doctor some day. Also in the hospital he saw Dorthy Henderson and Rose Mary Davis. They are now nurses whose main interests are the doctors. A flight of planes flew over, and flying three of them he saw Dale Tyler, Don Hetherington, and Bill Metz. They’re really up in the air over their jobs. Buried away in a pile of accounting books we find our old pal, Don Griffith. Those figures are driving him crazy. Bill Duff, according to the magic fire, is an Olympic runner, and can that boy run! Ron Paquette is playing ball with the Globe Trotters--he's their water boy. Verleen and Berdeen Thumser are still trying to find someone that can tell them apart. While looking through a movie magazine, we were surprised to see that the best looking man in Hollywood was none other than Luther Bowman. His old side-kick, Mike High, is said to be punching cows in Arizona. He's a natural for that job. When Erutuf thought of the ones that had been planning a marriage he found that they had flown thick and fast that first summer. Among them he saw Chloe Ann Brannon, Patty Knox, Louise Edlen, Wanda Helton, and Willa Dean Lange; and of course our pals that caught their men early, Kay Cook, Hazel Lange, and Sunny Patter- son. One report on the boy's side of the fence says that Bob Lange is still a happily married man. Way down in South America he saw our two whiz kids, Alex Hines and Mike Frey, building bridges just for fun. Some day they'll let them do a real one. Upon hearing the yells of an excited crowd, he peeked under the flap of a tent and saw, to his surprise, Fred May and Guy Anderson, the world’s most famous wrestling tag team. Roy Moats is their very capable manager. Heading a school of music in the deserts of Arizona, he found four of our song birds, Jo Van Brannon, Marlene Britton, Bonnie Spitzer, and Vernon Hollett. They are still filling the air with sweet (?) music. Slipping back to Broadway he saw our two playboys, Dick Shaw and Bill Ashley, heading for a high class night club. Naturally they were wearing Bermuda shorts. Artists of our little gang turned out to be none other than Terry Yates and Ed Real. Gail Jones is in his left- handed glory campaigning to promote the state of Texas. Rex Price is really happy now. He is building a five million dollar telescope on Mt. Everest. He is getting moony over it, too. The two favorite mascots for the Yankees turned out to be our own two stars, Mickey Potteroff and Dave Shriver. Two of our Dons now own businesses of their own. Don Strode has a filling station and the owners of the Dairy Queen gave Don Legg their business because he was eating up all their profits any way. Back home, Erutuf found Carl Zohner and Kent Wyckoff running their father's farms. Running them ragged-- that is. Roy George is the proud new owner of a body and fender shop. Dick Foster is his mechanic and Lonnie Haller is his most steady customer. Kenny Lee is now a dealer for used motorcycles. Larry Moore, our boy with a green thumb, now owns his own nursery. As the smoke grew dense and then faded away again, Erutuf saw another cattle ranch. The owner of this one was none other than Jo Ann McGee. She gets all her clothes from the famous dress designer, Phyllis Boyington. There was one fellow that just couldn’t get enough school, so he is now driving a school bus. That boy is none other than Max Langston. Throwing more powder into the fire we see Larry Jones who is designing men's hair styles in Hollywood for Paramount. Around the corner from the movie studio we find Linda Veatch as owner of a very swanky restaurant. In her employment we find Helen Spenser as bookkeeper; Sharon Gearhart, head waitress; and Bonnie Cloud, working as chief cook and bottle washer. Moving north, up the coast, we see Duane Wade as skipper of a converted whaleboat sailing out of San Francisco Bay in search of tuna. Now as the fire dies out and the smoke billows up, the future fades away into reality. STARLITE DRIVE INN THEATRE MOORE'S CASH GROCERY THE SPOT DRIVE-INN DUNKIN BLUE PRINT HUCKABY BROS.
