TAWASI Friends come and go, but old friends remain forever. May this your yearbook, live through the years and bring back the happy memories of your old friends. Published by THE ANNUAL STAFF CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL Grand Junction, Colorado 1952-1953 DEDICATION To you, Mrs. Knight, we, the members of the Annual Staff, on be- half of the student body of CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL, wish to dedicate the '53 annual, TAWASI. We sincerely feel that you deserve this honor and we hope you will accept it as our deepest thanks for everything, little or big, you have done for us throughout our high school years. Thank YOU, Mrs. Knight. THE ANNUAL STAFF JESS WAGGONER Area Superintendent JOSEPH T. GILBERT Principal Senior Sponsor FRANK N. NISLEY Mr. Nisley, who has been teaching at Central High School, retired this year. He has been in education work for over a half century and he has made a mark in his chosen field. His teaching career was centered in this area for the greater part of the half century. In addition to active teaching, he was county superintendent of schools and educational ad- visor for the CCC. His favorite subjects are history, Latin and mathematics and his hobby is astronomy. He has always been interested in athletics. The students at Central High School, as well as his former students, regret that he must leave the teaching protession. There will always be a warm place in their hearts for this fine teacher and friend. He will always be held in high esteem among all the people in this com- munity. BEST WISHES FOR MANY HAPPY YEARS!
