Rusty Mitten, offensive tackle, Tom Bridges, offensive guard, and Bob jackson, offensive center, provided the quarterback with ample protection, while Ken Kirk, offensive end, confused many defensive backs with elusive pass patterns. End Butch Waldrup, halfback, Terry Kitchen, and middle guard, Terry Rhymer, constituted an impenetrable defense, built around aggressive linebacker, Kim Godwin. Kim was selected as one of the four best de- fensive players inthe state. Second team selections were Blake Esicar, linebacker, Benny johnson, tackle, David Vann, end, Walter Matthews, halfback, and Larry Bickings, tailback. Ron Conner, Mark Kasten, Lance Brune, Richard Mitten, Dennis Bertrand, Eugene Holloway, Mike Stevens, Larry Ross, and Ross Conner received honorable mentions. Vive les Tigres!
