As high school students we have been greatly affected by the progress of the last decade and are looking forward with greater curi- osity to what the next ten years will bring. Space-minded nations have sent nine satellites into orbit and are working feverishly to reach the moon. Will the con- querors of space control the universe and will this be a test of man's manners, morals, and an impulse to peace? The preceding decade gave us Dr. Jonas Salk and his life- saving polio vaccine. Will medical research in a few years find a cure for cancer, that dreadful disease, which is taking such a heavy toll? Nations are striving to find a way to settle their differ- ences at the conference table rather than by using bombs and other deadly missiles. The next ten years will be a crucial time in the history of the world. The automobile takes the lives of thousands each year. What more can be done to make drivers more safety-con- scious? What can be done to handle the increasing crime wave and the problem of juvenile delinquency? These and many more are the problems of the present and the future. Only time holds the key to the answers. c ia 1 5? TT N . 4 TIME To everything there is. a season, and a time. to every purpose under the heaven: A fime to be born, and a time to dieg a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is plantedg A time to kill, and a time to healg a time to break down, and a time to build upg A time to weep, and a time to laughg a time to mourn, and a time to aianceg A time ta get, and a time to loseg a time to keep, and a time to cast awayg A time to remi, and a time to sewg a time to keep silence and a time to speakg A time to love and a time to hateg a time ofwar, and a time ofpeace.
