Foreword First it was a dream-this new high school of ours-seen in some far away nebulous cloud. Then the mists cleared and the picture became a reality, for the architects had captured it in blue print for all to see. Eileen Cerhardt and Winning Design The stone panel placed at the top of the entrance column at the new Central High School was designed by Eileen Gerhardt, a senior at Central. Eileen's design was chosen from sketches submitted by the five girls who are members of the Girardot Art Staff. A 3925 check was the award offered by William B. Ittner Inc., the architectural firm for the new building, and was presented to Eileen in as- sembly by Dr. A. C. Magill, President of the Board of Education. ...6..
