Then came traders to this region, built a trading post on the banks of the Mississippi, and from this beginning a city was born - Cape Girardeau, founded by Don Louis Lorirnier. Looking ahead to the future, he set aside a tract of land to be used one day as the site oi a school. , And so, what was at first a hunting ground, then a cow pasture, and later a cornfield finally became our Central High. lt grew quickly each year, adding more teachers and students and increasing its activities and opportunities. Through the pages oi this book the Girardot Staff proudly presents Central on Parade!
