lVorking under adverse conditions has brought niany new problems for the National 'lhespian Troup 662. Nevertheless. the handicaps that have arisen l'l'Olll the fact that we have had no stage this year have enabled us to try an idea new at Central-a Greek theater in the round. This year we have produced two one-act plays. The Dressu was writen by the rlhespian troup at the begin- ning of the year. It was the third one- act play we had written in two years. One ol' the most ineniorable inci- dents ol our year was the performance ol' 'l'he Other lVlSClHZ1ll,H the Christ- inas play. Never before had we stood on a stage with people sitting on all sides. It was terrifying: but after the first cold shock died away, we realized the audience was literally in our hands. The theater in the round has proved to be an interesting experience in that we have developed new techniques. including soine in staging and lighting. Many display fhelr falenis an fhe siage. TOP: A very musing portion of our Christmas play is shown in this scene between Onofre Gut- lierrel. and Bob Dilworth. B0'1l'l'OM: Now, son, says Bill Baldwin to Kirk Mettler, in the one act play The Dress. Page 100
