This is the code used by Central's han1'l radio operators as they try to contact other stations throughout the world. Central's Radio Club. with Mr. BROADCAST-Phil Caudill and Richard Klainnl of the Radio Club, station XVQGHA, are trying to contact outside stations, with success. I 'x,:: 4, .. ,,, -' Q' . 'Ill I4- Gilbert NI. XVilson as its advisor, is formed by a group ol' electronic-minded boys. Field Day is Radio Clubs special event ol the year. On this particular day the boys move their equip- ment to a park where it is set up lor 24 hours. DINING IN STYLE-Members of the Press Club honor the seniors at the annual banquet at the First Christian in May, 1956. refm Cfuddem nfog a goo mar TI-IE PRESS CLUB nieinbers. with Mr. Robert Dellinger as advisor, experienced an eventful year full of fun and activity. The picnic in the fall. the plans niade for the dance. the May Breakfast, the Spring Press Banquet, and the much anticipated initia- tions were some of the happenings ol the year. The Press Club is for pupils who have put in enough time and work on either the Caldron or Spotlight to earn the honor. The year 1957 marks the twentieth year of being lor the Press Club which originated in ISI37. EATING EARLY-Press Club members enjoy a good, hearty May Breakfast at the annual occasion May I, 1956. The adults are Mr. Fleck, Mr. Spuller, Mrs. XVatson, and Mr. Virts, in the background. INITIATION-New lnernbers are initiated in Mr. I leck's garage. Sharron Stearns carries out her assign- ment, while Bob Spitler, Rita Judy, Ann Gick, tlucly Nuzuni, Bob Deck, and Oonagh Hunter keep vigil. sg' xi

Weef XVH.-X'l S THIS, a club with no tneet- ings? That's correct. The Service workers help teachers check papers. run errands. and handle niany sinall iterns. They file absence slips and take attendance in study halls. The work- ers are there to help the teachers in any way they can. Yes, they're on the job every day. These energetic stu- dents get no pay. but earn points toward pins which are awarded on Recognition Day. The club has no officers or special project except that ol' being eflicient in their job and serv' ice to the school. Page l22
