Ms. Louise Todd sponsored DECA for the 1986-87 school year. The members of DECA met on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. DECA completed several activities this year. ln November, they par- ticipated in a Thanksgiving project Thanks for a community service center. In December they took a col- lection of toys up for Toys for Tots. Finally, inthe spring they hosted an Employerfiimployee banquet. Of- ficers this year included: Iris Moore -- Presidentgb Misty Culp --4 Vice Presi- dent, Kim Elmore - Sec., Penny Stock - Trees., and Mary Taylor -- Reporter and Chaplain. Another service organiztion, VICA, made some worthwhile con- tributions to our school, This year, VICA's sponsor vvas Aubrey Kelly. VICA met once a month and wheneverfa meeting was necessary at 7:00 p,mQ The club sponsored the Toys for Tots drive and the Employer Banquet. The Analysis Team was sponsored by Mrs. Martha B. Howell. Every Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:30 the members of the team would meet for one hour until 4:30. The members of the team participated in ten to twelve tour- naments this school year. With their great practice, the analysis teams placed first in the Randolph and University of Alabama tournament. In addition, they placed a strong third place at the Vestavia Hills Tournament in Birm- ingham. Finally, in the summer of 1986 in Miami, Florida, they placed fifth in the Mu Alpha Theta National Convention. The Algebra ll Team, sponsored by Linda Hodo and Ann Lilly, met each Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30 in Room 158 on the East Campus. Their projects in- cluded participation in eight tournaments during the school year and they hosted the eighth grade Algebra I tournament at CHS in the spring.
