FHA One of their biggest projects was the Mother-Daughter Spring Tea, This tea was held in May for the mothers of the Home- making girls. The girls modeled the clothes they made in class and refreshments made by the cooking department, were served. Two of their money-making projects were selling Christmas cards and fruit cakes made by the girls in the cooking depart- ment. Other projects included: a clothing drive, the Nutritional Home Party, contri- butions to Care, and initiating the new mem- bers. Seated Ellen Hata, Joan Goeringer, Gayle Nobile. FHA The Future Hornemakers of America, under the advisorship ot Mrs. Frieda Mont- gomery and Mrs, Aurora Johnson, is one ot the most active clubs at Central High. This is part of a nationwide organization tor girls interested in homemaking and com- munity services. The requirement is limited to girls who have taken one or more semesters of home- making. ln December, FHA held a Family Ban- quet in honor of their families. The organization functions on a local, state, and national basis having chapters in nearly every rural high school in the nation. lt is the largest organization of rural boys in the world. f The purpose ot FFA is the development ot agriculture, leadership, cooperation, and citizenship.
