RALLY COMMITTEE Dolores Giusti, Rally Commissioner, and her Rally Com- mittee planned, worked on, and participated in all rallies and game entertainment during the year. They arranged and prepared two exchange assemblies, one with Selma High and the other with Washington High. During basketball season the Rally Committee, with the approval of Student Council, changed the Central rooting section from the west side of the gym to the east side. The Rally Committee consisted of the pep girls, the ma- jorettes, the yell leaders, and members chosen by the Rally Commissioner and Mr, Greg Dunshee, advisor, with the ap- proval of Student Council. The pep girls, consisting of eight junior and senior girls, performed at rallies, games, assemblies, and marched in par- ades. lt is the duty of the yell leader and her assistants to pro- mote school spirit by leading the school songs and yells at the rallies and games. SOCIAL COMMITTEE There have been many successful dances held at Central High this year. The credit should go to Pat Smith, who is Social Com- mittee Chairman, her Social Committee and their advisor, Miss Sally Raley. Off to a good beginning, the Social Com- mittee gave a Welcome Dance in honor of the freshman class. King Larry Forbes, Queen JoAnne D'Alessandro, Prince Earl Jacobsen and Princess Jacque Bien were chosen by the freshman class to reign over the dance. The biggest dance of the year was the Christmas Dance with the George Rossler Band playing, The theme being Silver Bells was carried out in the decorations. King Darrel Price and Queen Nancy Burleigh were crowned royalties of the dance. Other dances included: The Football Dance, Mardi Gras Dance, Twirp Dance, and the Spring Day Dance. Pat Smith Social Committee Chairman Left to right: Ed Jansen and Pat Brosi seem to be enjoying the antics of Judy Nonini and Jim Magarian at the Christ- mas Ball. Ed Kalpakoff appears to be entranced by Janice Miguel at the Christmas Ball. Page 75
